The professor is to contact Interzinc at 1.800.247.6265 and request a professor information packet and a student information packet for each participating student.  These packets will include the first part of the competition, the zinc questionnaire and a reference CD.

Those students that score 70% or better will be eligible to advance to the design portion of the competition.

Next, complete the entry form below and submit with the completed design.

Design Entry Form

Single applicants, fill in the information requested. 

Group applicants must designate one representative as the applicant, and place this person's name and contact information in the appropriate sections. The remaining group members must have been listed on the zinc questionnaire and the on the back of the entry form.

Limit one entry per entry form. 

In the Design portion, submit only graphics (drawings, blueprints, photographs, computer graphics, etc.) representing the design idea, concept description and relevant text mounted on not more than 4 foam board panels. For conformity and fairness, the foam boards must be 14 inches (35.56 centimeters) x 22 inches (55.88 centimeters).  

The boards must be organized so that a complete concept with development can be understood.  The viewer is not to be required to make any assumptions or intentions not clearly shown on the boards. The first board should have a sealed envelope affixed to the back with a copy of the entry form enclosed with the name of the individual designer as well as group designers (if applicable). Subsequent boards must be identified on the back, no identification is to be on the front  The awards will acknowledge each designer's name in all publicity.

Written text should be minimal, but is essential.  One or two boards should contain description and documentation, and a statement of the problem solved and reasons why the entrant feels the solution is effective.  The text should also highlight unique features that may be unclear unless identified.  

In addition, all design drawings, pictures, and text that is on the design boards should be submitted in an electronic form (JPEG, PDF, DOC, etc.), if possible, for publication.  The electronic submittals should be provided on a floppy or CD, enclosed in the envelope affixed to the first presentation board.

THE COMPLETED DESIGN MUST BE SUBMITTED BY June 18, 2008.
